Massage centres run on three things a generic booking app handles badly: therapists who work shifts rather than fixed hours, rooms and beds that are the real capacity limit, and packages that clients buy ten at a time. Here is what to look for.
Quick answer
Massage therapy software manages therapist rosters, room and bed allocation, treatment durations with turnaround time, prepaid session packages and per-therapist commission for massage, reflexology and wellness centres. The two capabilities that decide whether it works are resource-aware booking — the bed and the therapist reserved together — and accurate package redemption, since most massage revenue in Malaysia and Singapore arrives as prepaid blocks. LABÉAU covers both plus WhatsApp reminders and LHDN/IRAS e-invoicing from RM174.92/month; WESS and Aoikumo are established regional alternatives, and Mindbody suits centres that also run classes.

Beds, not therapists, set your capacity
A centre with eight therapists and five rooms can deliver five simultaneous treatments. Booking software that only checks therapist availability will happily sell the sixth, and someone at reception will find out about it at the worst possible moment.
Rooms, beds and specialist equipment — a foot-reflexology recliner, a hydro bath, a heated table — all need to be bookable resources with their own availability and their own turnaround for linen and reset. Once they are, the diary stops lying about what the day can hold.
Shift rosters, not opening hours
Massage therapists commonly work rotating shifts, part-time patterns, or on-call arrangements, and many centres open twelve hours a day with no single therapist present for all of it. A booking system that models one set of opening hours per staff member cannot express that.
What is needed is a roster: per-therapist availability that varies by day and week, published far enough ahead for online booking to be accurate, and reflected immediately when someone swaps a shift. Where therapists are paid per treatment rather than by the hour, that roster is also the input to their pay.
Per-therapist rosters that vary by day, not fixed weekly hours.
Rooms, beds and specialist equipment as bookable resources.
Turnaround time between treatments for linen and reset.
Prepaid session packages with balances visible at the counter.
Per-treatment or per-therapist commission calculated at checkout.
Gender or specialisation preferences recorded on the client profile.
Most of the money arrives before the service
Massage and reflexology in Malaysia and Singapore is overwhelmingly sold in prepaid blocks — ten sessions, twenty sessions, a value credit topped up periodically. That makes package accuracy the commercial core of the business rather than a side feature.
The system has to hold an exact balance, redeem against it at the point of service in front of the client, handle redemption across branches if you have more than one, and report total unredeemed value so you know how much service you owe. Centres that track this on a card the client carries eventually meet the client whose card and whose memory disagree with yours.

The bottom line
Pick on two things: can it book the bed as well as the therapist, and can it hold a package balance you would be happy to show a client at the counter. LABÉAU does both, with shift rosters, commission, WhatsApp reminders and both LHDN and IRAS e-invoicing, from RM174.92/month.

At minimum: per-therapist shift rosters, rooms and beds modelled as bookable resources, treatment durations with turnaround time, prepaid package balances that are authoritative at the counter, and per-treatment commission. Generic calendar apps handle none of the last three, which is why centres tend to outgrow them within the first year.
Model the room or bed as a resource with its own availability, so a slot is only offered when the therapist and the room are both free, and include turnaround time for linen and reset. A system that checks only therapist availability will sell more simultaneous treatments than you have rooms to deliver.
Only if balances are held centrally rather than per outlet. LABÉAU keeps package and prepaid credit balances at business level so a client can redeem at any of your locations, with the redemption attributed to the branch that delivered the treatment for reporting and commission purposes.
Yes, subject to the MyInvois rollout phases, with Phase 4 live since 1 January 2026. Walk-in clients who do not request a tax invoice are covered by a consolidated e-invoice for the period. LABÉAU submits both from checkout. Confirm your own phase and obligations with LHDN or your accountant.
