The best Idle alternative for salons, spas and clinics
Idle is a Singapore-built booking and POS platform that now sells in Malaysia and Thailand, priced per store and built around a WhatsApp AI agent that books clients in your calendar. It is a well-made, modern product. Owners looking for an alternative usually need one thing it has chosen not to do — submit e-invoices — or want commission, packages and memberships without moving to its higher plan.
Quick answer
LABÉAU is the closest Idle alternative for salons, spas and aesthetic clinics in Malaysia and Singapore that need e-invoicing built in. Idle’s own pricing page says it does not submit to MyInvois; LABÉAU issues LHDN MyInvois and IRAS InvoiceNow e-invoices from checkout on every plan. Idle is cheaper to start (Solo RM59/month, Grow RM229/month, per store) and includes a WhatsApp AI agent with 1,000 free replies a month. LABÉAU starts at RM174.92/month on a 12-month plan with packages, memberships, tiered commission and unlimited WhatsApp confirmations and reminders on every plan, plus 12 interface languages and LINE, KakaoTalk, Viber and Zalo alongside WhatsApp.

Where Idle is a good fit
Idle’s strongest feature is its WhatsApp AI agent: running on your own WhatsApp Business number, it answers questions about services, prices and hours and books, reschedules and cancels in your real calendar, in the language the client writes in. It is included on every plan with the first 1,000 replies a month free, after which Meta’s per-message rate applies. For a busy single outlet whose front desk spends the day answering the same WhatsApp questions, that is a genuine time-saver.
The entry price is low too. Idle Solo is RM59 a month (RM588 a year, with a promotional RM49 a month for early stores), with booking, a custom booking page, Stripe deposits, CRM, POS, rosters, unlimited staff logins and multi-store management. There is no setup fee and a 7-day trial on the Grow plan without a card.
Where owners choose LABÉAU instead
E-invoicing built in. Idle states that it does not submit to MyInvois and leaves e-invoices to your tax agent or the MyInvois portal. LABÉAU issues individual validated e-invoices and consolidated walk-in e-invoices to LHDN from checkout, and IRAS InvoiceNow for Singapore, on every plan.
Salon money on the entry plan. On Idle, packages, memberships, loyalty, inventory and payroll and commissions sit on Grow (RM229 a month per store). LABÉAU includes packages, memberships and tiered commission on Silver.
More than WhatsApp. LABÉAU sends unlimited WhatsApp confirmations and reminders on every plan, marketing campaigns from Gold, and integrates LINE, KakaoTalk, Viber and Zalo for clients and staff who are not on WhatsApp.
Twelve interface languages, including Chinese, Cantonese, Bahasa Melayu, Thai and Vietnamese, for mixed teams.
Separate apps for clients (LABÉAU), staff (LABÉAU TEAM) and owners (LABÉAU Office), with staff seeing their own day and earnings.
Free data import and one-on-one onboarding in English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese.
Do you actually need MyInvois?
It depends on your turnover, and it is worth being exact because Idle is right that many small salons do not. Since 1 September 2026, an independently owned Malaysian business turning over less than RM3 million a year is exempt from e-invoicing. If that is you and you never expect to grow past it, e-invoicing is not a reason to choose LABÉAU over Idle.
It becomes the deciding factor if you turn over RM3 million or more, belong to a group where a related company does, sell treatment packages above RM10,000 that need their own e-invoice, have corporate clients asking for validated e-invoices, or run a branch in Singapore. Our free MyInvois checker tells you which side of the line you are on.

Frequently asked questions
Not as a submission. Idle’s Malaysian pricing FAQ says it does not submit to MyInvois and that its records carry the figures your tax agent or the MyInvois portal needs. It also notes, correctly, that e-invoicing is required only from RM3 million in annual turnover.
As of 14 October 2026, Idle lists Solo at RM59 a month (RM588 a year) and Grow at RM229 a month (RM2,508 a year), per store, excluding tax and payment fees. WhatsApp agent replies beyond 1,000 a month are billed at Meta’s rate.
LABÉAU sends unlimited WhatsApp confirmations and reminders on every plan and marketing campaigns from the Gold plan, and integrates LINE, KakaoTalk, Viber and Zalo as well. If an AI agent that books clients inside WhatsApp is the deciding feature for you, compare that part of both products in a demo.
